What do you need?
Team Suits
Team suits are NOT mandatory. For the 2026 and 2027 seasons, the Lionfish will wear the Nike HydraStrong competition suits. They are linked in our Swimsuit Team Store. Orders from the store must be placed by May 20, 2026.
We do not recommend wearing your competition suit to daily practice. It's ideal to try to reserve that suit for competition days only, if possible.
What to Wear/Bring to Practice
- Practice suit (any color/pattern/style--have fun!)
- well-fitting jammers/brief for boys, if possible
- comfortable, well-fitting, one-piece suit for girls, if possible
- we don't recommend wearing sun shirts or trunks, as they can create considerable drag and make it more challenging to perform strokes correctly
- WATER!!
- athletes practicing in the heat need to hydrate, even when they're in a pool
- Goggles
- mirrored is recommended for summer swim to provide UV protection
- Towel
- Cap
- Anyone with hair that is long enough to fall into their faces should ideally wear a cap. We understand it can take some time to ease into for our younger ones, and we're here to help if you need us!
- We recommend silicone caps. They are a little more stretchy and durable, and pull hair a little less!
- We have personalized team caps for sale at registration and non-personalized team caps available throughout the season.
- Suncreen
Other Gear
Other gear, such as fins, kickboards, or paddles are available for use at the pool at the coaches/ discretion. No need to buy any of those!
Spirit Wear
You may have been provided a 2026 team t-shirt at registration, but there's lots more fan wear available for swimmers and family members. Check out our 2026 Spirit Store! Order by April 26th!
Other gear is available at Swim Outlet
